Events
L.P.P. hosts some special events throughout the year such as our Spring/Easter party. Every year we have things like:
- Jolly Jumps
- Marionette Shows
- Children Portraits
- Stuff-n-Fluff (Like Build-a-Bear)
- Face/Arm painting
- and Specialty Cakes (like a bunny)!
Other local licensed daycare provider's joined us for the event and we all had a great time! We do one in the spring and one in the fall, having the other provider's host some as well.
We sometimes break up the regular weekly schedule by taking field trips to the local park, library, pumpkin patch, Chuck E Cheese's, and other family friendly facilities.
L.P.P. tries to have a few different fund raisers a year. We usually have a large yard/bake sale, asking our clients to donate items, and then doing something special with the earnings like the year we had a summer carnival in the back yard which included a pot luck lunch, lots of games, including a prize booth, water play, pony rides, petting zoo, jolly jump, music, face painting and more. Needless to say, it was awesome!!
In the past, we have had a bird family that built it's nest in a wall plant right in our play zone. We then had the awesome opportunity to watch the mother and father build their nest, lay four (4) eggs, sit on them for three weeks, and as of 5-24-07, we have four (4) babies! We then got to watch the parents feed and raise them untill they flew off to start their own families! Cool huh, nature at it's best (the birds know a GREAT daycare when they see one)!
Just recently we stumbled upon a cute, little baby lizard on campus! We took it into our care for twenty-four hours to study it with an adequate habitat and then let it loose back outside to live it's life.
